Frequently Asked Questions
Is the network cable included?
The camera ships with mounting hardware, a weather-resistant cap and an Ethernet extension cable, but the network cable run back to your recorder is not included, so plan your cable length before ordering.
Are there any monthly fees?
No. Lorex U Series cameras have no monthly fees. Footage is stored locally on your recorder.
Which recorder does it work with, and how is it powered?
It works with the Lorex UA 4K 8-Channel PoE NVR and other select Lorex NVRs (see the compatibility list on lorex.com). It is a PoE camera (802.3af), so a single network cable carries both power and video when connected to a PoE port, such as the built-in PoE ports on the Lorex UA NVR. It can also be powered with a 12 V DC adapter (not included).
Does it have audio?
It has a built-in microphone for listen-in audio. Audio recording is disabled by default.
Can it record without a recorder?
The camera has a microSD slot (up to 512GB) for independent recording. Footage saved to the microSD card is not uploaded to a compatible NVR or to the cloud for viewing in the mobile app.
How does the Extended Warranty work?
Choose the 1-Year or 2-Year Extended Warranty option on this page to extend your coverage to 2 or 3 years total, counted from your date of purchase. To make a claim, contact us with your order number and we will guide you to the right Lorex support team. Claims are subject to eligibility and the Lorex warranty terms and conditions.
Is installation included?
No. Installation is not included and we do not offer installation services. The camera ships with mounting hardware.
