Frequently Asked Questions
Are cameras included?
No. This is a recorder only. Cameras are sold separately, or you can choose one of our ready-made T Series systems that include cameras.
Is storage included?
Yes. It includes a 1TB hard drive and has one drive bay, so you can expand storage up to 10TB.
Are there any monthly fees?
No. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions. Footage is stored locally on the recorder.
Can I record in 4K?
Yes. The recorder supports 4K (8MP) recording and displays up to 4K Ultra HD. 4K (8MP) cameras, such as the Lorex T5 4K Analog Turret Camera, are required to take advantage of 4K recording.
What do I need for remote viewing?
Remote access requires a high-speed internet connection and a router (not included). Lorex recommends a minimum upload speed of 6 Mbps for the best video performance, and up to 3 devices can connect at the same time.
How many cameras can use AI detection?
AI detection works with 1 detection type per channel, on up to 8 AI-enabled channels.
How does the Extended Warranty work?
Choose the 1-Year or 2-Year Extended Warranty option on this page to extend your coverage to 2 or 3 years total, counted from your date of purchase. To make a claim, contact us with your order number and we will guide you to the right Lorex support team. Claims are subject to eligibility and the Lorex warranty terms and conditions.
Is installation included?
No. Installation is not included and we do not offer installation services. The recorder ships with a network cable, HDMI cable, USB mouse and power adapter.
