Frequently Asked Questions
How is it powered?
It has a built-in rechargeable battery, charged with the included power adapter and USB cable. You can keep it topped up with an optional Lorex solar panel (sold separately).
Which solar panels work with it?
Lorex lists the SP301 solar panels (4.5W and 7W) as compatible. They are sold separately.
How is footage stored?
Insert a microSD card (not included) for local recording with no recurring fees. Lorex lists cloud storage for this camera as coming soon.
Is it weatherproof?
It is designed for outdoor use. Lorex’s product page lists an IP66 rating and its spec sheet lists IP65; either way, mount it where it is protected from direct water jets and follow the Lorex installation guidance.
Are there any monthly fees?
No monthly fee is required to use the camera with a microSD card (not included), and local storage has no recurring fees. Lorex also offers optional cloud storage through a Lorex subscription.
How does the Extended Warranty work?
Choose the 1-Year or 2-Year Extended Warranty option on this page to extend your coverage to 2 or 3 years total, counted from your date of purchase. To make a claim, contact us with your order number and we will guide you to the right Lorex support team. Claims are subject to eligibility and the Lorex warranty terms and conditions.
Is installation included?
No. Installation is not included and we do not offer installation services. Mounting hardware is supplied for the mounting options Lorex lists in the box.
